When the day crossed over the earth, she kissed the barren landscape with a loveless echoe. There was never such a deserted part of land that had been so forsaken by a lifelong drought in her memories, in her thoughts, and yet here she stood at the base of this mighty crest.
Her gentle eyes were a clear lake of placid emotions. Their silver linings dimmed by an off-thought, which reguarded this mountain with a bit of depression. How could this area be so forsaken? Ignored by the gods?
With pelt the color of bloodied rocks -grays melting into whites, reds and browns mending and disappearing into those grays and whites- she stood in the harmless sun. Her blue eyes sparked as she turned her head and watched a commotion pick up behind a rock. Her auds swiveled forward upon her crane and the black nose at the end of her muzzle twitched nervously.
Out from the back edges of the rock came a familiar sight. A young pup by the name of Somba lumbered into the opening and looked up at Hikari with bitter emerald orbs. They circled her, turned her inside out, without once moving the little body that had some how captured the burning stones.
"Why are you not with you mother, Somba?" She inquired to the pup.
Somba snarled and turned her gaze away, spatting out a shitty insult, "Suppose I despise being with anything that lives in this family."
"And so you followed me?" Hikari's ears laid flat. A child should respect any elder, especially their own mother., "I don't think your alpha's would like you out this far without them."
"Suppose my mother said it was alright." The word Mother had so much influence and hatred hidden behind it that Hikari could see the bitter twitch in the young wolves muscles.
"She never told me anything." Hikari made a motion as to walk towards Somba, but Somba let out a loud and abnoxious growl. Those little fangs were already cut and sharp, and looked as though they'd do enough damage at so young. Hikari held back on any snarling of her own, in respect of the alpha's.
"They mustn't care anything about you, to keep you in the dark as they do..." Somba growled. A small smirk began to form on her little maw, the brown ends crinkling up, and her green fire eyes lighting up as if splashed with a drop of water.
"Fine." Hikari muttered. She lay herself in the sun and closed her eyes half-way. She kept her senses focused on Somba's general area, and pretended as if she didn't care. Though the pup did bother her for some reason. The others didn't seem so resentful...
As Hikari laid down, Somba turned her head away and began to scout around the area, sniffing at rocks, and exploring her surroundings.

I felt weird without my sister's companion. Never had I been seen without her tagging closely to my side, but today was different. The timid little gray wolf had actually grown a backbone since we'd started living outside of our parents' den. She was actually out hunting, and didn't want or need me there for assistance or emotional support. I was surprised; anyone that had met her two years ago woulld tell you they didn't think she'd amount to anything. She had though, even if the progress had been slow.
Nevertheless, I was on my own exploring the territory I'd already scouted out a hundred times. I knew that my paws were carrying me toward the mountains. The plant life around me became even deader than it already was as I continued. I had no real reason to travel to the mountains, but as long as Animosity wasn't there, I had no real reason to avoid them. So I pressed on, my pace slow and just above a walk. I studied the land around me out of boredom, noting any changes since the last time I'd been through. Nothing. Dead and dry just like the last time.
They musn't care anything about you to keep you in the dark like they do.
Fuck. The voice rang through my ears and I cringed. Somba. Probably the worst creature on the face of the earth, next to Animosity of course. I'd never really met my younger sister, but I'd been around her enough to know that I didn't want to. She was just the kind of wolf I hated; a snobby, stuck-up bitch that thinks she's the queen of the world. My steps paused, not wanting to go any closer. I thought about turning back, finding something else to entertain myself with.
Fine.
But then I heard another voice, one that was also familiar. I recognized it as Hikari, the female I'd met just a few months ago. She seemed like a good soul; she didn't fit in here, but wouldn't fit in a place like Lightning either. I hated seeing my rude siblings talk down to anyone. Neither of them were better than me, or any other wolf in this pack and had no right to act like it. So, I'd accepted it as my personal duty in life to talk shit and push their buttons until they were flaming.
I smirked as I picked my pace back up, striding into the area the two were in with it proudly on my maw. " And you're not in the dark, Somba?" I inquired, spinning around when I'd passed both of them. I faced them from the opposite side I'd entered, raising a brow at the smaller pup as I spoke. I doubted that she'd really been told what her purpose in life was, and even if she had she didn't understand it. Our parents cared nothing for her; she was just a tool they were using to take over the surrounding packs. Once their deed had been done, I was sure mother would kill them. And even if Somba wasn't chosen to be in the army, she'd just be cast aside and ignored. Unlike them, I knew mother cared about me. She wanted me and Echo out as soon as the war started, to go and hide somewhere safe until everything was finished. Unlike her little pawns, she wanted us to live.

Hikari's ears flickered gently and slowly her eyes opened to see the female. Her name escaped Hikari at first, but atfter a moment of passive thought, the name Opal seemed to echoe deep within. She remembered this fae, for she was the daughter of the Drappa and Dragga. Somba's older sister. When she first came to the land, than Opal and her sister welcomed her, while there brother (with the same attitude that Somba had) was willing to spring on her backside for trespassing. Though the sisters reguarded Hikari and took sympathy on the kerl, and allowed her access into a brand new family. She had heard the rumors of the pups true purpose, but thought nothing of it, and had vowed not to fight any wars, even if it meant expulsion from the pack. But as Opal spoke, Hikari turned her head and looked at Somba, who had taken the comment with a snarl. "They don't care about me either then. Good. Feed me and protect me until i'm as big as you and can live away from you ignorant assholes." Such a tongue, such bitterness. It hurt to hear her sister say such a thing, because the very thought of nobody -her father and only her father- caring made Somba cringe inwardly. The subtle tensing in her muscles showed her real emotions, but she kept her facial expression calm and collected. As though nothing could pierce that hard shell that surrounded her. "How are you today, Opal." HIkari greeted the higher ranked female with a gentle bow of her head, "Ignore Somba, she is naive and young. She would straighten out after a proper beating from her mother."

I laughed at Somba's words, the insults bouncing off. I'd developed the ability to disregard any of my more idiotic siblings' words. In my opinion they were ignorant and foolish and nothing they said mattered. I simply wouldn't allow any of their rude remarks hurt me. I stepped forward slowly, my tail swishing a few times behind me to display my mild interest. It seemed like mother hadn't told her what she was. It was somewhat surprising; she had enlightened Animosity at an early age...And I was almost certain Somba would be the one; she seemed more harsh and resentful than Enastetyk...She just acted anti-social.
" Feed and protect? Right. Obviously you are in the dark," I replied, rolling my eyes at her. " If you run off mother will simply kill you herself."
My focus shifted when I heard Hikari speak. I turned to see her bow as she questioned my condition. I smiled softly at her as I dipped my muzzle in return. I was no alpha, and if she was going to respect me she'd get the same treatment in return. " Marvelous, Hikari. And you?" I returned, still grinning. " Indeed, she's definitely due for a good beating."

"Mother's milk has brought me this far, and no harm has come to me yet. Doesn't that define Feed and Protection?" Somba rolled her eyes and turned away, taking more interest in a pebble that lay on its flattened side. She didn't care. Let mother BEAT me, let her try! Let mother try and kill me! The spirit of the wild wolf surely thrived within young Somba's soul, but evil corrupted what good could come from such a free heart. Though, there was a burning question. Am I too in the dark? Hikari was one thing. A pathetic kerl taken in and placed as a simple Omega. But Somba was an alpha's daughter.
Hikari smirked and narrowed her eyes on Somba, who'd now sat and turned her back to her sister and her babysitter. "I say take her to the Gods for her putence and ignorance." Hikari muttered, "Let us see how indestructable she is when she is faced with the wrath of Liam."

Mother's milk has brought me this far, and no harm has come to me yet. Doesn' that define Feed and Protection?
I guessed in a sense it did, but when Deceit herself was a threat to Sombe, there wasn't much protection there, was there? " Sure, sure. I bet you won't be saying that when she has you pinned on your back, snapping down your throat," I snapped, narrowing my eyes as I looked at her. It had happened to Animosity, so she was sure it would happen to Somba. " You're not her daughter, you're her play thing, her little tool. You resist or become useless and she'll kill you... And don't even think you stand a chance fighting her."
Mom was a force to be reckoned with. I'd seen her fight, even if the memory was a young one and was rather blurred. She might not have the size, but strength and cunning she did. She was nearly heartless, the only sign of affection I'd ever seen from her was toward me. She tolerated dad, but I didn't think she really cared for him.
I say take ehr to the Gods for her putence and ignorane. Let us see how indestructable she is when she is faced with the wrath of Liam.
I smirked, looking back at Hikari. Now there was an idea. Take the little scrap of useless fur to the gods and let them deal with her. A creature like her was deserving of some sort of punishment. It didn't look like mom would be doing it anytime soon, but a divine being would be much less tolerant of her mouth.
" Now there's an idea. They could do anything... Things that would have you begging for death," I said, glancing at Somba. I wouldn't actually wish anything like that on another wolf, but there wasn't any harm in scaring, right? " It could easily be done, she's too small to fight back... Liam or Dhaval definitely wouldn't tolerate her mouth..."

"And how would I approach this god?" Somba turned with a sharp gaze, "You think i'd disrespect our lords? Now who's the ignorant one?"
Grinning down at Somba, Hikari's eyes lit up, possessing within them, the greatest firey thought she'd ever had. To tell truth, Hikari didn't like Somba. Anything as evil and stupid was not deserving of any life, whether she was a tool or a toy. Somba was an offense to wolves everywhere. Why not just get rid of her, and let this supposed war destroy her itself...
"Now Opal. Liam can see all of the things we've done. He can read thoughts, and his word will punish those who ascend to him at the end of their days." She looked at Opal. That cunning smirk was plastered on her face so casually, it looked as though it were a permanent expression. "She's only a tool, no? I've never known her true purpose, nor do I care. She's such an annoying little creten so undeserving and disrespectful. But what if we sent her away to our rival, to deal with the enemy from within."
For a moment Somba and Hikari had locked eyes. Somba snarled, 'now the bitch is takling about sending me away...they'll never go for that.'
"It's the perfect little wake up call for our little Somba."
Killing changed a soul...Sometimes it changed them in a way that made them afraid and loving...While sometimes it turned them sour....

And how would I approach this god? You think I'd disrespect our lords? Now who's the ignorant one?
" Are you really that stupid?" I sneered, audits flicking back in annoyance as I looked at her. My muzzle opened to speak, but Hikari interrupted. I lifted my head and ears, turning my dial to gaze at her as she spoke, a devious smirk on her face.
Now Opal. Liam can see all of the things we've done. He can read thoughts, and his word will punish those who ascened to him at the end of their days.
She beat me to my own statement, and I smirked as I looked back at Somba. " Indeed. Punishment not given now will be delivered when mom finally does kill you and you have to face Liam.
She's only a tool, no? I've never known her true purpose, nor do I care. She's such an annoying little creten so undeserving and disrespectful. But what if we sent her away to our rival, to deal with the enemy from within. It's the perfect little wake up call for our little Somba.
" Rival? You mean... take her to an enemy pack?" I wasn't quite sure what she meant by her statement, but was sure her following statement would clarify things.

Somba let out a meek snarl and rolled her eyes at the ignorance of her sister and the omega. How could they decide her fate. She was annoyed that the two least important figures in her life were deciding her own future. This talk of a tool? It couldn't have been true. Though she began to show signs of nervousness, her tail flicking and her eyes randomly jumping from one to another.
"I've seen it before. We mask her scent, Cover her markings with hog dung, and then send her to the edge of the packs' land. Two things could happen from there. They could take her in and protect her, feed her, and teach her in place of her original mother. But, if we remind Somba of the fate if she betrays her own family, than she will abide by our terms."
Hikari shot Somba a glance, but returned her gaze to Opal, who seemed more than curious in Hikari's bitter plans.
"Remind her that betrayal will result in death. She will have to be careful in the rival's family as well, for betrayal to them will result in her death, or atleast expulsion from their pack. That to us will be betrayal as well as ignoring her orders. Her job in this pack after she is grown and taught, will be to kill the hunters, pups, and omegas. Anyone that will pose a threat to our own."
After explaining this to Opal, she looked at Somba. A serious stare which made Somba even more tense.
"If you get kicked out of this pack, we will kill you. If you take pity for this pack, we will kill you. If you do not follow orders by killing the young and strong, you will be killed. And if you return before your duty is done, we will kill you. If you try to run away, than we will find you and kill you."

Somba was nervous, and her condition grew more so as Hikari hesitated a moment before speaking. I watched Somba, her tail twitching frantically behind her and her eyes darting quickly between the two of them. I smirked, she wasn't as big and bad as she thought.
I've seen it before. We mask her scent, Cover her markings with hog dung, and then send her to the edge of the packs' land. Two things could happen from there. They could take her in and protect her, feed her, and teach her in place of her original mother. But, if we remind Somba of the fate if she betrays her own family, than she will abide by our terms.
I turned my attention back to Hikari as she confirmed I was right. She was wanting to send her into an enemy pack, but not to be punished... My brows furrowed, pulling together in interest as my eyes stayed locked onto Hikari's face. I felt like I was leaning forward, listening carefully for the next installment of her plans.
Remind her that betrayal will result in death. She will have to be careful in the rival's family as well, for betrayal to them will result in her death, or atleast expulsion from their pack. That to us will be betrayal as well as ignoring her orders. Her job in this pack after she is grown and taught, will be to kill the hunters, pups, and omegas. Anyone that will pose a threat to our own.
" Damn..." I murmured softly as I straightened up, amazed. Hikari was one devious little bitch, much smarter and malicious than I'd first considered. I wasn't a fan of the war that we were starting, but it was beyond my control and I knew I wanted my mother to make it through it at all costs. If Somba took out most of the enemy, victory would be certain; maybe none of our pack would die. And this was a plan that mother hadn't thought of, and I was sure she would approve. Why wouldn't she? It was absolutely brilliant!
If you get kicked out of this pack, we will kill you. If you take pity for this pack, we will kill you. If you do not follow orders by killing the young and strong, you will be killed. And if you return before your duty is done, we will kill you. If you try to run away, than we will find you and kill you.
" And what of mother? I'm sure she'll love the idea, it's absolutely brilliant. Somba hasn't been confirmed as another tool in her miniature army yet, and something like this would be the perfect way for mom to use her... So should we tell her now, set the plan in action first and then tell her, or not tell her at all?" I questioned, raising a brow as I looked at her. " And which pack to send her to? Bloodshed is the strongest and the largest... would she go to them?"
