Knock, knock, knock! Ryker had the iching feeling that if he said that he'd be fresh kill for the pack he was attempting to join. Sad right? Well that's just the fate of a guy like Ryker. A ladies man, a con artist, a jerk, an ambitious jerk, an ambitious jerk who has a knack for both trouble and ladies. Yeah... that's Ryker for ya!
The wind tore at the tall plant life of the Grasslands. The sun was just a sliver on the horizon, it's dying rays turning the already red hued brute in a blood red creature. Ryker's eyes searched through the thick brush he pushed through as he made his way into the Shadow packlands. A strong breeze slammed into him, plastering his fur to his body with just a moment. Then it was gone, carried away by it's sibling breezes. He snickered to himself, wondering it with all this wind the wolves here had wings. That would be interesting. The brute finally found a large flat rock that stood a bit above the tall grasses and Ryker was quick to leap onto the smooth stone. Here he would wait for the wolves who lived here to arrive and either accept him or deny him.
"Where, oh where have the big bad wolves gone? Oh where, oh where could they beee?!"
Out of all wolves that could come knocking at least he wasn't one of the pathetic ones seeking shelter and pity. No he was looking for a purpose. Ryker was all muscule under a thick layer of gray fur. When you spend your entire life [all of four years] fighting against your father to live... you learn how to fight. Ryker knew how to fight and the Shadow pack would appreciate that talent if they were anything like he had heard and he had heard quite a lot about the Shadow pack... not all so great, but definatly alluring. That and there are always females to be entertained by! Ryker couldn't help but crack a grin.

This place was probably the only thing decent out of all of the lands the Shadow Pack owned. The thing was, the other packs had these same type of land, too, and it wasn't the best they had. I didn't like the fact that we had the horrible land that we did, but the war would change that. A wicked grin crossed over my face, brightening my mood a few notches as I padded into the Grasslands. The grassnormally felt good, but today it was harsh. It whipped at my legs, for the harsh wind made it do so. My mottled gray and white fur was quite ruffled, though it was usually like that on a normal day.
'Where, oh where have the big bad wolves gone? Oh where, oh where could they beee?!'
My good mood faltered as I heard the singing, and my nose wrinkled. Who the hell was singing? I growled lowly, a rumble in my chest, and I stalked in the direction of the voice. I had the feeling that it was a loner, and I was right. I could see an unfamilar wolf lying on a rock. The only grown males here were Wraith and Denali, and they were gray. This one was tinged with red.
"Why the hell are you singing?" I growled, sneering. We were close by to the border, so, techinically, he was doing nothing wrong, but I could have fun along the way by giving him sneers and such. I had the feeling, by the looks of him, that he could easily take up for himself. "Could you be any more nerve racking?" I gave a crooked grin--I wasn't really angry, honestly. I was in a decent mood, which was a change. I was usually a bitch. I wondered what the change was this evening. "Don't answer that," I added quickly. I was sure he could be. "Who are you?"

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=5][bg=ca84d0]My head hung level with my shoulder. With each step I took, my tail swayed behind me in time. What the hell was I doing here? Why was I always asking myself that? I wasn't sure why I was even staying in this pack... I could walk away and be fine, even for 7 months. I could survive on my own now, I could survive out of this pack. It's not like any of us ever saw each other. It was pretty much every wolf for his of her self. And the other three packs were against us. At least out on my own, packless, I wouldn't have everyone else against me. And I wouldn't have to fight in this army. I hadn't even gotten to know Animosity, and he was supposed to be my partner right now until the third was born. I hadn't seen Somba anywhere. I had heard rumors that she might be a fourth member to the army.
Whatever. I rolled my eyes. Killing was in my blood. I knew that. Everyone in this pack with a brain knew that. My purple eyes glanced down to my toes as I took each step. I watched the way my toes spread every time they connected with the ground from my weight. Granted, I wasn't very heavy in truth, but it was enough. I was perfect size for speed. My long legs provided for long strides, which made me quick.
Something caught my attention. My audits swiveled forward and caught the end of something.
'...could they beeee?'
I tilted my head to the side and laid my audits back against my skull again. And then my eyes laid themselves on her. That stupid bitch...A growl rose in my throat and it was everything I could do to hold it back. My steps stopped themselves. I wasn't about to go up there with her. I couldn't stand her and I had only met her once in that filthy marsh. Why in the hell did she have to be everywehere that I was? My eyes thinned into devious slits and a wicked grin crossed my lips as a sudden realization crawled across my brain. I wasn't going to avoid her. Silence was my talent. Speed was my second best.
I stealthy moved up behind her, pushing through the grasses. I knew the other wolf could see me, I just hoped that he would stay quiet and leave me to what I did best, messing with others.
'Could you be any more nerve racking?'
"Why yes."
My voice released itself smoothly. I nipped at her flank and moved quickly to her other side. I knew she wouldn't have time to react and find me on that side of her. I stood tall on my long legs. Holding still and waiting for when she finally found me. Now she would actually have a reason to hate me. I forgot all about her quickly and took a step past her towards the new wolf. His fur intrigued me. As did his eyes.
"And who might you be?"

Well, well, well. What was up with threes today? Three knocks, three wolves, three wells. Ryker pondered for a moment as the second female played with the one who showed up first. He had seen her slinking through the grass, but the look on her face was just to mischeivious to tattle on!
"My name would happen ta be Ryker, but you ladies can call me Ryk. So whut would a lowly dawg like muhself call two such stunnin' faes like yourselves?"
The southern drawl and dialect he used was obvious. I always was with him and Ryker adored the way he talked. It was a Georgia thing after all. His crimson gaze was drawn in my the second one's purple eyes, they were quite the surprise. So was the fact that instead of an angry alpha male storming up... two dashing faes had showed up to greet him. Ryker had in mind to do as lady number two had done and annoyed the irritated female. It did sound like good sport, but he had come here for a reason.
"I've heard whispers o' this pack an' decided my talents would serve use here. The other packs seemed rather... pathetic reall'eh."
He sat up and placed a paw on his chest, puffing it out dramatically. Ryk was always out to get a giggle or two from the ladies. The red hued male settled back down at the edge, paws hanging over the rim of the windswept stone. His crimson and amber eyes flicked back and forth from one charm to the other. The Shadow pack certainly knew how to grow them!

'Why yes.'
I felt a light nip on my left flank, and I turned, teeth bared at whoever had tried to bite me. No one was there, but I could smell someone else. It triggered a memory of a marsh. No wonder--it was that bitch Enastetyk, who thought she was the shit because she was daughter of Deceit. I turned to look on my other side, and, sure enough, the bitch was standing there with herself held up. I growled, giving a glare at her as she stepped herself forward. I wasn't about to attack, not now, but her time would come.
'My name would happen ta be Ryker, but you ladies can call me Ryk. So whut would a lowly dawg like muhself call two such stunnin' faes like yourselves?'
First off, what in the world was up with that accent of his? I nose was already wrinkled in disguist, but this was another thing that it would be wrinkled for. Ugh.
'I've heard whispers o' this pack an' decided my talents would serve use here. The other packs seemed rather... pathetic reall'eh.'
I tried to ignore his accent, even though it was grinding my nerves. I watched as he puffed myself up, and I felt a slight amusement tingled with more annoyance. Trying to impress us was he? He was amusing, if nothing else, but I certainly was not impressed with him. "Of course they're pathetic," I answered, sneering still. I had been in a decent mood, but the arrival of Enastetyk had shattered it. Figures. "We're stronger than any of them." And for that reason, we would win this war. I was sure of it, very confident. "I'm Mora, Beta of Shadow," I said, holding my head up as I said it. I didn't so much as glance at Enastetyk.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=5][bg=ca84d0]I grinned when she finally found me. I knew she would be irritated with my presence. But this was too good to pass up. A chance to make her a little angry was something I lived for now. Nothing of real excitement ever happened around here. I didn't even waste my time glancing over to see if she had noticed me, I just knew.
'My name would happen ta be Ryker, but you ladies can call me Ryk. So whut would a lowly dawg like muhself call two such stunnin' faes like yourselves?'
A chill ran over me. Really? An accent? It fit him quite nicely in my opinion.
'I've heard whispers o' this pack an' decided my talents would serve use here. The other packs seemed rather... pathetic reall'eh.'
I took another small step forward, leaning with it so it was smoother, my chest pushing forward with the motion. A smirk still stayed planted across my black lips. My long legs only made the motion look more elegant.
'Of course they're pathetic. We're stronger than any of them.'
I almost choked. At least we agreed on something. I knew that even though we were small, we had this war already won, no doubt. But I hadn't expected that kind of response from her. But my deep purple eyes still didn't leave this new male. I had gained about 2 respect points for Mora. Which...by my count...had her up to about negative 6. The thought made me stiffle back a giggle. Whether the two of them thought it was over her comment, or the thoughts in my head, oh well.
'I'm Mora, Beta of Shadow.'
Of course she would point out that she was the Beta of the pack. I almost rolled my eyes, but held that back as well. I had more important things to do, like placing in my own introduction.
"And my name is Enastetyk, daughter of Deceitful Illusion and Denali."
I blinked with my introduction, a little flash of the eyelashes. Oh yes, I could put up a front.

The fur along his neck and back stood on end as the younger wolf moved forward with an elegant stride, nearing him without a second thought. A beta and an alpha's pup? For the first time in his life he wished he could thank his dad for getting him sent to this paradise...
"Mora and Enastetyk... Quite a mouthful there darlin' mind if I call ya Tyk?"
He gave her a half smile, a charm he had perfected over his four years of life and flirting. Something about that half dangerous and half inviting smile always hooked them. Of course Ryker was here for a reason and sooner or latter he'd need to get that across to these two if they didn't already know. Naturally he wouldn't mind bedding either, but he was sure the alphas wouldn't be to kind to welcome him with open arms... they'd welcome with open jaws. Ryk's head snapped up and he scowled at that thought. Back to business...
"So now that we're all aquainted I have soemthin' to ask of ya Miss Mora. I seek ta join this pack and as beta you have authority ta let me in right?"
His crimson eyes watched her calmly, half narrowed in lazy focus. The brute had never once asked to join a pack seeing as he had been born into his old one and only left when the park rangers shipped him here so Ryker hoped he had asked right. Hoping not to offend he gave her a smile that was similar to the one he had given Enastetyk... maybe a little less flirt and a little more gentleman. It was obvious Tyk didn't mind strutting her stuff, but Mora was still being a tad to hostile for him to waste flirting on as of yet. No he had other plans for her. Ones that included an honest ammount of irritation!

'And my name is Enastetyk, daughter of Deceitful Illusion and Denali.'
And of course she wouldn't let it go unknown that she was the daughter of the Alphas. I ignored it, watching Ryker.
'Mora and Enastetyk... Quite a mouthful there darlin' mind if I call ya Tyk?'
I could definatly agree with that, at least. What had Deceit been thinking? The name was so freaking long and hard to say that I didn't even think it, I just thought of her as that bitch. Not Ena-whatever.
'So now that we're all aquainted I have soemthin' to ask of ya Miss Mora. I seek ta join this pack and as beta you have authority ta let me in right?'
Ah, straight to the point. Pretty much the only reason I had made my way over here--to deal with outsiders. It was my job. I was either to chase him off, like it had been done with Fierce, or to allow him to join. And here he was, asking to join our small but growing pack. I gave him a smile smile in spite of myself. "I most certainly do. And I'd say that a strong male such as yourself has what it takes to become one of us," I said. I hadn't intended to say it that way--it sounded like I was...like I was....trying to flirt with him. Ew. But for whatever reason, I said it. I huffed at the gross thought of trying to throw myself at a male, something I'd never really considered doing. For all I cared, he could have that girl over there, who seemed definatly interested. Like I cared. "And with that....Welcome to the Shadow Pack."

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=5][bg=ca84d0]'Mora and Enastetyk... Quite a mouthful there darlin' mind if I call ya Tyk?'
I didn't mind at all. No one had given me a nickname as of yet. And I supposed Tyk was good enough. My grin stayed plastered to my face. I had rarely ever smiled. A lot of evil smirks, but this one was slightly less evil. I almost growled at the thought. I had to keep up my front, piss off Mora a little more, and maybe flirt just a little with this new wolf. Ryker...
Strange that Ryk and Tyk matched up so well. What if he was just messing with me? Leading me on? I almost snorted at the thought. There was no way. Mora was he before me, he could have messed with her first. But he hadn't. Or maybe that's why Mora was already slightly pissed off when I arrived. Whatever. I didn't like her anyway. And I'm sure that both of us understood that fact.
'So now that we're all aquainted I have soemthin' to ask of ya Miss Mora. I seek ta join this pack and as beta you have authority ta let me in right?'
Of course she had to accept him. Or I would just march myself to Deceit and Denali and make them change the decision. But Deceit and I didn't have a very close connection so far and maybe she would just shrug me aside and send him away anyway.
'I most certainly do. And I'd say that a strong male such as yourself has what it takes to become one of us.'
I shot a look at her. What was she saying? She couldn't send off such a hateful aura towards him and then flip around. That was acceptable around me. There had to be a reason as to why she was switching for a split second.
'And with that....Welcome to the Shadow Pack.'
And now be gone negative six bitch. I don't want you here anymore. You are no longer needed.
My purple eyes shifted back to Ryker.
"Yes, welcome."

His jaw dropped in the slightest at the tension between the two. Mora was being bitchy and flirting while Tyk was playing back at him... all the while managing to tick Mora off even more. The crimson eyes flicked back and forth from one she-devil to the next. What male could possibly be stuck in a better situation? The brute couldn't help but hang his head and chuckle, it was so hard to hold back that he just couldn't bear it anymore. Ryker stood up and leaned his head to the side in a barrel of laughter. Ryk wiped under one eye with his paw and tried to calm down.
"You two ladies are a riot and defiantly the best o' friends ain't that right? 'Scuse my laughing..."
During that he'd let out quite a few chuckles and snickers, but by the end he had gotten a hold of himself. Ryker was enjoying this and glad he'd chosen to join Shadow pack. The only complications that could ruin the choice would have to be the fact that these two both seemed intent on winning him over to beat the other and that every wolf outside of Shadow would now want to kill him. Always his luck right?
"I thank both o' you belles and thank you for the comment Miss Mora."
Ryker gave them both an equally flirty and kind grin, and Mora a slight chuckle, before leaping off the rock with a heavy thud. There was a lot of muscle behind even the slightest jump. Ryker stood tall, but kept far from dominant behavior. No need to get his ass beat by the beta that just accepted him and called him strong. That would contradict her wouldn't it. The brute had landed between the two and trotted forward a couple steps before he passed Mora. His crimson eyes swept the terrain beyond the grasslands, eager to get to the swamps. He was used to three terrains: mountains, plains, and swamps. By far his favorite was the swamp. Ryker had never been sure why he felt so at ease and safe in places like that, but he did. Ryk looked over his shoulder at the two faes and gave them a huge grin.
"So what is there to hunt 'round here?!"
